Apply for a Scholarship or Grant
Papawai and Kaikōkirikiri Trusts provides educational support, through scholarships and grants, to students descended from Tangata Whenua of Wairarapa, living anywhere in New Zealand.
The intention of Wairarapa tīpuna was for their children to have access to education, ideally in a faith based context. The Trusts will continue to protect in perpetuity lands that are historically significant and will connect whānau to the land through outreach programmes and education scholarships.
Annual Post Primary Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded to students attending a New Zealand secondary school fulltime in Years 9 upwards. Each year the provision of scholarships is determined on the amount of income allocated by the Board and the amount of applications received.
Leadership and Personal Development Scholarships
The purpose of the Leadership and Personal Development Scholarships is to support students to attend a Leadership or Personal Development programme outside of the school environment.
There are scholarships available in any one year, to a total distribution of $8000 for students in Years 11, 12 or 13. This scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is awarded.
